THE FINAL VICTORY

In our message, THE FINAL VICTORY (1 Cor. 15:42-58), we continued our series in the book of First Corinthians looking at the Gospel and specifically the time when Jesus will return for the church and Christians will be glorified in Him (Rom. 8:30, 1 Thes. 4:13-18; 2 Cor. 5:9-10, etc.).

Paul continued to explain what would happen to a Christian who had died before Jesus’ return (1 Cor. 15:42-49) and then transitioned to what would happen bodily to those of us who are alive when Jesus returns for the church (1 Cor. 15:50-54). Christians are to set their eyes and hope fully on Jesus and the fullness of grace that will be revealed to us when death is swallowed up in life when God comes for us (1 Cor. 11:23-26; 15:26; 1 Pet. 1:13; Heb. 12:1-2, etc.). It is because of our Savior that we have eternal life and the sting of death, though still present in our world today, will be removed from us forever in His kingdom (1 Cor. 15:55-56; Rom. 8:18-20; 16:20, etc.). Christ is the One to whom all praise is due as He has given us the victory, He continues to give the victory in our lives today when we walk with Him, and He will absolutely bring THE FINAL VICTORY to us when He returns for us and we are made like Him (1 Cor. 15:57; 1 John 3:2-3, etc.). It is because of this sure and steadfast truth, the reality and glory of our future that we are to “… be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that [our] labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Cor. 15:58). *For more information on this “mystery,” please watch our January 12, 2025 message above (1 Cor. 2:9-10; 15:51-52, etc.).
